With outside dimensions of 3.5 and 3.625 in., AC induction motors are built for performance and reliability at ambient temperatures up to 450°F and pressures to 30,000 psi. They join single-phase electric motors, with ODs from 1.5-3.625 in. (1.5 hp), which can be offered with gear heads, feedback devices, or other custom requirements. Suited for down hole oil exploration tools, motors are typically used to run central hydraulic pump or are directly coupled to drill bit.
